|Helicobacter pylori IgG (HP IgG)|
Helicobacter pylori is a gram-negative, microaerophilic bacterium found in the stomach, and may be present in other parts of the body, such as the eye. If you have antibodies to H. pylori in your blood, it means you either are currently infected or have been infected in the past. A negative result indicates that the patient does not have detectable levels of IgG antibody to H. pylori. However, if a specimen is drawn too early in H. pylori infection, IgG antibodies may not be present.
