Luteinizing hormone (LH)

Luteinizing hormone is a hormone produced by gonadotropic cells in the anterior pituitary gland.  It stimulates Leydig cell production of testosterone.  It acts synergistically with FSH. In both women and men, LH is often used together with other tests (FSH, testosterone, estradiol and progesterone):

Specimen  requirement - 5 ml of peripheral blood collected in gel vacutainer tube and plasma/serum is isolated.
